Rebecca Cosgriff
Rebecca Cosgriff is a health data and translational research leader with over 15 years’ experience across the NHS, national health data infrastructure, clinical research, and the charity sector. She currently directs health data strategy at LifeArc, a not‑for‑profit life science organisation focused on accelerating translational research in rare disease and global health.
Rebecca joined LifeArc from NHS England, where she served as Programme Director for Data for Research and Development. In this role, she had Ministerial accountability for the design and delivery of a £200m cross‑government investment to transform how NHS data is accessed for research, including the development of the NHS Research Secure Data Environment Network and national services supporting data‑enabled clinical trials.
Prior to her time in the NHS, Rebecca spent seven years at the Cystic Fibrosis Trust as Director of Data. She was responsible for the UK Cystic Fibrosis Registry, data-driven clinical trials, pharmacovigilance, and leading a 22-country global COVID‑19 surveillance initiative. Her work consistently focused on translating high‑quality patient data into measurable clinical, research and policy impact.
Rebecca brings deep expertise in data strategy, clinical trials, health policy, and public engagement, particularly in rare disease and the responsible use of health data. Originally from Lincolnshire, she has a BA (hons) and MA from the University of Nottingham. Rebecca has published extensively on the use of health data for translational research and holds advisory roles with organisations including UK Biobank and the UK Multiple Sclerosis Register.
