Sarah leads the Industry Partnerships team to deliver our commission from the Office of Life Sciences – supporting innovation reach the people, places and problems where it will have most benefit.
A biomedical engineer and trained Clinical Scientist, Sarah has experience spanning the NHS, academia and industry. Before joining Health Innovation East, she led the Clinical Engineering Innovation team at Cambridge University Hospitals, where she supported the development of medical technologies from early-stage needs identification through to clinical evaluation and commercialisation.
Sarah has also worked internationally in healthcare innovation, including as an Entrepreneur in Residence and Biodesign Innovation Fellow at Stanford University, where she focused on needs-driven innovation and the development of paediatric medical technologies. Sarah holds an MEng in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Cambridge, a PhD in Biomaterials from Imperial College London and an MSc in Clinical Engineering from King’s College London. She is particularly interested in collaborative approaches to innovation and in connecting clinical needs with the expertise, technologies and partnerships needed to deliver meaningful improvements in healthcare.
