Our comprehensive programme and project management offer ensures that complex innovation and change projects are delivered on time and within budget.

We draw on programme and project management best practice – blending industry-standard methodologies as required – to ensure there is:

  • A clear and well defined project scope, supported by measurable success criteria.
  • A detailed project plan with decision gateways, alongside clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
  • An appropriate governance structure to provide effective project oversight.
  • A clear Risk, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies (RAID) log with suitable mitigations to ensure successful delivery.
  • Sufficient and appropriate project resourcing.

All of our work is underpinned by bespoke project management software and an established Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring effective management and escalation of risks and issues as required.

Working  in a highly collaborative way, we ensure our approach is tailored to each specific project’s needs.

We ensure strong and consistent communication across  all project stakeholders, supporting  alignment, managing expectations, and resolving conflicts as needed.

Change management

We support teams in identifying and implementing what is needed to manage change effectively within their organisations and any partner organisations they work with, and work with them to make it happen.

Drawing on implementation science and our own extensive experience of leading change, we highlight where complexity may hinder implementation efforts and offer practical solutions such as, but not limited to:

  • Securing board buy-in through a clear value proposition and setting out the need for change;
  • Ensuring support and capacity on the ground to enable change, for example through. champions
  • Enabling peer support, for example through communities of practice.

We employ frameworks from implementation science such as, for example, Expert Recommendations for Implementing Change (ERIC) and the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR).

We use a range of formats, from interactive workshops to expert presentations either in person or online, Each training series is designed end-to-end with the audience’s needs at the forefront.

Topics may include assessing innovation need; identifying high-impact innovations; developing a compelling business case for innovation; practical approaches for effective innovation implementation drawing on implementation science; and effective evaluation to measure success.

Bid and business case development

Navy business case icon

We lead and advise on bid and business case development on behalf of system and innovation partners.

Working collaboratively with all relevant stakeholders, we develop a  compelling narrative that clearly articulates  the need; the proposed solution and the  success measures – all in line with funding requirements or local guidance.

We actively build  consensus across diverse professional and patient groups to support smooth implementation once the bid or business case is approved.

Our deep understanding of what makes a successful bid is informed by our experience assessing major national programmes –  such as the National Innovation Accelerator and the SBRI Healthcare Programme – as well as by our own bid development work.

If full leadership support is not required, our team can also provide advice, guidance and iterative reviews to maximise the likelihood of success.
