Our impact review highlights our success stories from the last year

Health Innovation East has published its latest impact review (for the period April 2019 to 31 March 2020) highlighting how we worked with our community to turn great ideas into positive health impact told largely in the words of the people we have worked with.

This was mostly business as usual, where we increased the breadth and depth of our collaborations to deliver some major successes in terms of patient and investment impact but we have also included an overview of our role supporting our NHS partners’ response to the COVID-19 crisis.

Highlights of the year included helping reduce the number of avoidable strokes in our region, supporting some of our region’s most vulnerable mental health patients by working to integrate their care, making progress to improve patient safety in maternity and care homes and reducing the number of hospital readmissions occurring through medication errors.

We also significantly increased the guidance we provide to our region’s innovators in health and care, introducing our first scale-up academy and a wider collaborative programme called MedTechBOOST. We established 27 pilot sites, 186 innovators benefitted from our bespoke business support, 98% of people left our regional leaders innovation forum in January inspired by our purpose, we launched our diversity and inclusion pledges and 5 of our projects were recognised with awards.

We have published the impact review digitally to enable greater access, provide a more interactive experience and minimise our environmental impact.
