The Avoiding Brain Injury in Childbirth (ABC) Programme is a national initiative aimed at reducing avoidable harm by strengthening clinical practice during childbirth. A key priority of the programme is improving the safe and effective management of Implicated Fetal Head (IFH) at caesarean birth – an obstetric emergency that requires a rapid, well‑coordinated multidisciplinary response.
This page serves as a central training and resource hub for maternity professionals across the East of England who are delivering the IFH Programme, developing unit capability, or embedding the wider ABC Programme within their services.
