With neurological and mental health disorders impacting four out of five people in their lifetime, the urgency for cutting-edge solutions has never been greater (1). Advancing neurotechnology having the potential to offer revolutionary new treatments to address these disorders, the new programme is designed to attract the best minds in the neurotechnology space.

Cambridge NeuroWorks will offer a home for original thinkers to find funding, mentoring and space to test their ideas. It will scour the UK for innovators from any background with a highly ambitious concept for a technology that could transform brain health. Participants will be encouraged to push the boundaries of what is possible in brain health, to create life-changing, affordable and scalable solutions.

Through two core streams – the fellowship programme and the ecosystem programme – Cambridge NeuroWorks will support and accelerate the development of breakthrough technologies, from electronic brain implants to brain-computer interfaces, designed to improve lives globally.

The Fellowship Programme:

– Blue Sky Fellowship: Seeking radical thinkers with disruptive ideas to rapidly test and develop their technologies in Cambridge.

– Frontier Fellowship: Helping innovators with proven ideas take their work to the next level, turning it into a scalable business.

Applications for the Cambridge NeuroWorks Fellowship Programme are open until 17 January 2025.

You don’t need to consider yourself part of the “neurotech” community or have a fully tested idea to apply for the Cambridge NeuroWorks Fellowship Programme – what matters is your ability to think boldly and contribute innovative solutions.

The Ecosystem Programme:

The Ecosystem Programme is about creating a vibrant, UK-wide neurotechnology community where leaders from business, science, engineering, academia and the NHS can meet, spark ideas and form collaborations. This will involve quarterly events in Cambridge, road trip events across the UK and access to the thriving online Cambridge network, Connect: Health Tech.

The partnership with ARIA is exhilarating, because it will empower us to give brilliant people the tools to turn their original ideas into scalable, commercially viable devices that can have a global impact.
