Salary: £38,320 – £49,645

Hours of work: Full time. Flexible working hours/options compatible with the role can be discussed.

Role purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Data Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will leverage their strong analytical and communication skills to transform complex datasets into actionable insights. This role involves:

  • assisting in the design and execution of data analysis projects under the guidance of senior data scientists
  • supporting the building of statistical or machine learning models to analyse data
  • helping to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders across stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

As a Junior Data Scientist, the post holder will:

  • Data Collection and Preprocessing: Assist in gathering, cleaning, and organising large, diverse datasets to facilitate advanced analysis.
  • Statistical Modelling & Machine Learning: Support the development, validation, and implementation of statistical models or machine learning algorithms to tackle evaluation questions.
  • Data Visualisation & Reporting: Help translate complex data analyses into concise, meaningful reports, visualisations, and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work cross-functionally with external (academia, biopharma) and internal partners – strategy, clinical, operational, and business intelligence teams – to understand data requirements and communicate results, under supervision.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on emerging trends, tools, and best practices in data science to drive innovation and efficiency, with a focus on learning and development.

Key relationships and working with others

  • This role will be required to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the internal and other external stakeholders as required.
