Health Innovation East has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Advisor (Health Economist) to join our evaluation service within our Delivery team.
Salary: £48,921 – £69,164
Hours of work: Full time. Flexible working hours/options compatible with the role can be discussed.

Role purpose
We are seeking a Senior Health Economist to join our team and play a key role in informing health policy and service decisions, particularly in the context of the NHS. This role involves:
- designing and implementing economic evaluations
- applying robust modelling techniques
- interpreting complex evidence to guide effective resource allocation and policy-making.
Key responsibilities
As a Senior Health Economist, the post holder will:
- Health Economic Modelling: Develop and maintain health economic models (e.g., decision trees, Markov models) to support cost-effectiveness and budget impact analyses.
- Statistical Analysis: Utilize statistical models (e.g., General Linear Models, Differences-in-Differences, Interrupted Time Series) to analyse healthcare data and inform economic evaluations.
- Economic Evaluation: Conduct cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, and other relevant analyses, ensuring alignment with NHS guidelines and best practices.
- Parameter Estimation: Identify and extract relevant parameters from published literature and incorporate findings into models.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare technical reports and presentations that communicate methodologies, assumptions, and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaboration: Work closely with clinical, academic, and operational teams to integrate economic findings into broader project strategies and outcomes.
Key relationships and working with others
- This role will be required to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the internal and other external stakeholders as required.
